complete the delivery to Brazil of 12 Mi-35 (AH-2 Sabre) attack
helicopters worth $150 million by this fall, the head of the Federal
Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) .
As of today, nine helicopters have been delivered and the remaining three will be shipped in the fall,” FSMTC director Alexander Fomin said at the LAAD 2013 defense exhibition in Rio de Janeiro.
The Mi-35M is an export version of the Mi-24 Hind that was used extensively in the Soviet war in Afghanistan.
The Mi-24/35 is unique among dedicated attack helicopters insofar as it can carry troops, in addition to performing its attack role.
